Richard White

Alpe d'Huez in the French Alps
Here's Richard riding his bike at the top of Alpe d'Huez in the French Alps, he's also ridden up Mont Ventoux and Col du Galibier (equally famous climbs in the Tour de France), fortunately those times no cameraman was there to record his suffering!

In 1988 the White family arrived and fell in love with the village of Peebles. Early on I was thrown into community life by acting as chairman for the Playground Action Group which took an unpromising piece of tarmac with a couple of swings to winner of Scottish Playground of the Year. I've also had the privilege and pleasure of serving on School Boards for both WL Primary and Peebles Secondary School as well as chipping in helping at the Whipman. Currently on NCDT (Newlands Community Development Trust), with a remit to lead the conversion of Newlands Hall to a Business Centre, giving a great little hall a new lease of life.

And now I'm really excited about adding a brewery to the list of things that makes this end of the Borders such a great place. Having spent most of my adult life working for big American corporations travelling far and wide, I'm looking forward to working where I live to create a business rooted in the community celebrating village life.
